A wake up call for me as a former religious person was this simple exercise in reason: would I stay in an abusive relationship with a man who constantly “tested” me and put “trials” my way to determine whether I was faithful? My answer was: no. Then why would I submit myself to that type of thinking with a god? Reason and logic are liberating, I tell you
